What's the website about?

It's about trying to protect the picturesque, historical and heritage village of Rushton from being over run with development. It's about keeping the rural aspects and open countryside of Rushton free from private enterprise so that it can be enjoyed not just by the people of Rushton and their families, but also by visitors from other locations who regularly come here to escape the rat race for a while. It's about residents being made aware of exactly what is going on with planning applications submitted by developers and what these applications mean in real terms and how they affect you and the village you live in!It's about you having the right to object to your village being over developed - about how to make your voice heard.

So what is the website made up of?

It is the intention to create a mailing list to which residents can subscribe. Issues arising will be mailed out to list members as necesary, it would not be the intention to bombard anyone with needless mail. It is also intended to invite Rushton Parish Council to use this website as a means of communication to parishioners, after all, the majority of us are now on-line. A forum may be opened, where issues can be discussed and messages posted. It is hoped that this website will become the parish notice board for all who would use it in it's proper context. It will keep you more informed, and hopefully help us to better deal with having our say about our village, as well as help us to know each other better.
